The result of the Genie run is written to a Genie Results File (a special FITS image file with extension .grf). This can be viewed using Aladdin, using the Aladdin menu item File, and selecting Load Results.
In the example shown, Genie has evolved a water mask for the scene, and has generated a spatial-spectral image processing algorithm which can be turned into a stand-alone IDL program and run on other scenes, as we shall see in the next section.
The output produced by Genie is actually a greyscale image, which has been thresholded to produce the binary classification shown by Aladdin. The user is free to adjust this threshold, using the Aladdin menu item Tools, and selecting Result Threshold. If a training file (.gtf file) is loaded, Aladdin will report Detection Rate and False Alarm Rate as this threshold is adjusted.
